Who We Are
Cotton Council International (CCI) developed the Cotton's RevolutionsSM initiative to help the global cotton textile and apparel industry engage in strategic thinking focused on anticipating developments that will affect the entire supply chain. The foundation for the Cotton's Revolutions is the Seven Revolutions concept developed by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. The initiative began with a series of regional focus groups in Atlanta, Frankfurt, Dubai, and Hong Kong and a global focus group in the United States that brought together top industry leadership to discuss the Seven Revolutions as they relate to the cotton industry. The focus groups included representatives from the producer, input, trade, spinner, fabric manufacturer, apparel manufacturer, and brand and retail segments.
Focus group participants agreed that such discussion and interaction are critical to the success of the global cotton-textile-apparel supply chain. While additional forums are planned for the future, the Cotton's RevolutionsSM website will provide constant access to information that is important to industry leaders. This site will serve as clearinghouse and discussion forum focused on cutting edge information related to the Cotton's RevolutionsSM topics. Each of the revolution topics will be addressed by collecting and sharing the latest research and developments, and inviting interaction between members via virtual round-table discussions, Q&A sessions, etc. Topics that prove to be of particular interest to the community may be further addressed via conferences or additional focus groups.
